Streambed Restoration Workshop

During October, 2016, River Ridge Institute will host a hands-on training session to teach simple, effective, economical techniques for erosion prevention, water quality and quantity improvement and habitat conservation. The workshop, in its first incarnation, will be aimed at professional staff of both non-profit and government organizations. The idea is that this core will graduate from our workshop and then go out and spread the ideas and techniques they’ve learned to their clientele, i.e., ranchers and landowners from Kern through Mariposa counties.

Our workshop will be four days doing and learning, some classroom time, lots of field time during which we will build and install structures designed to improve water, soil and habitat.

Subsequent workshops will invite landowners and the public to attend.

Our partners are the NRCS, Point Blue Conservation Science, Sequoia Riverlands Trust, Kamansky’s Ecological Consulting, The Tule River Tribe and the University of California Cooperative Extension.
